Review: Language of Desire

Language of Desire is an e-course developed by Felicity Keith. It is not written in the soft, flowery manner you would expect of a woman-to-woman guide. Instead, Felicity dared to write in straight-talk, which is typically associated with men.

Nevertheless, by injecting humor and real life vignettes, it 's a fun read. But, if erotica or profanity disturbs you, Language of Desire may not be your program.

UNLESS – you can find the courage to hitch up your big girl panties and metamorphose into a Sex Goddess.

It may be a stretch to put your trust in a woman you don 't know and probably will never meet. Know this – Felicity does not ask you to do anything she has not already tried and proven effective.

Each time he sees you with the object or doing the action, he will react to the trigger with a "Pavlov erection".

In the section "Sexual Singularity", Felicity delivers on her promise – to teach you the one phrase every man yearns to hear. When you find out what it is, you 'll wonder why in the heck you never thought of it.

Module V – Erotic Action Movie Technique

It would be a spoiler of the most devastating kind to elaborate.

Module VI – Desire Intensifiers

"Crank up the Heat", by employing sexual tension. You 'll learn to titillate your guy with word-foreplay until you connect again. Obviously, we aren 't talking migraine type tension. You 'll give him an adrenaline jolt to amplify the passion and fun in your relationship.

You 'll learn when and how to initiate "The Tease Intensifier". This is vital if you want your guy to believe he just can 't get enough of you. It 's a little known part of the "go-away, come-closer" dance that all couples do. By using tease intensifiers – you are in control; you exacerbate his sexual frustration; you keep him coming back for

Poets express their concerns about the Nazis and Jews through the use of poetic devices in order to create a response in the reader. The poets, Lily Brett and Trish McCallister, crafted these poems to express the poor living conditions, the barbaric nature of the Nazis and the suffering Jews inside the camps. Through the use of poetic devices such as imagery, irony, repetition, personification and onomatopoeia, both poets are able to portray their concerns to the reader about the Holocaust. Through the use of poetic techniques, the reader is left feeling antagonised and empathetic.…

Isabella Valancy Crawford's narrative poem “Malcolm's Katie”, deals with wealth, the building of a nation and, most importantly, it deals with love as a conquering solution to address the major concerns of her country in the nineteenth century. Crawford’s cure for greed, nihilism, and the desirous exploitation of the “smooth-coated men” (II, 230) was love, which she deifies as capital L love. Personified love in the poem is embodied by Katie whose appearance, morals, and steadfastness is exemplary of the characteristics of love. Her “opponent” Alfred, the nihilist, doubts the existence of love, celebrates the sensual pleasures, and perhaps embodies the main concerns of late 19th century Canadians.…

After exploring through the Pen America site, I found a poem that I found very interesting. The poem is called “Explorer” by Candace Williams. This poem discusses how the explorer comes to America bringing their talents in order to to help them prosper. The speaker than goes on saying how the work the explorer is doing is due to his desires. I believe that the explorer is an immigrant coming to America because the way the speaker describes him, it sounds like he is starting up a whole new life for himself.…

More traditionally poetry is used to share details of a poet’s thoughts, emotions and views on different things that he or she has experienced. The author of the poem “Sixteen”, Chelsea Rathburn, seems be using it to share experiences she has had facing motherhood as a single parent but Chelsea then explains that it is a persona, kind of like a fictional narrative. Chelsea is a creative writing professor at Young Harris Collage and is marred to James Davis May. Together the couple had a child named Adelyn; it is very simple to assume that she has the experiences in the poem, since it is about a daughter and a mother just like her and her daughter, but when interviewed Chelsea explains otherwise.…

    Sarah Kay's Poem B

This excerpt from the poem “B” by Sarah Kay revolves around the theme “Apologize for the wrong you’ve done, not for who you are”, with 2 examples of imagery, one for sight “Your eyes refuse to stop shining,” and one for sound “But don’t ever stop singing.” The word choice here is very informal, because it is a spoken word, and it is in the context of a mother to her daughter. I chose the artwork above because it represents the 2 examples of imagery: the eye for sight, and the mouth for sound. This is relevant to my life, because it reminds me to keep pursuing what I love, which is to perform, and that I shouldn’t let the opinions of others drag me down or be something that causes me to apologize for who I am. Finally, this can be relatable…
