Native Americans Vs. Non-English Speakers

Language is a tool we use to create the life we desire. Living in the United States means having to speak English. Glenn Davis, in Speaking English Right, says “English speakers in the United States earn more money than non-English speakers.” As in today companies are looking for people with good social security numbers and as we know most Mexicans that weren’t born in the United States don’t have social security numbers. My aunt was born in Mexico in a small town call Ixcatiopan. Coming to Chicago at a young age was difficult for her. She is now living with my cousin and looking for a part-time job. My aunt has been kicked out of different places where she has gone for a job interview because she can’t speak English well. She now understand English, but is embarrassed to speak in different interviews. My uncle used …show more content…
My aunt is still looking a job and practicing her language. In my opinion, as an example to my aunt people should get hired in different places where they don’t need to speak well English with a little of English should be enough. My aunt knows how to read English, but her problem is speaking it. It took her a while to learn so much, but she finally got her first interview at the same store I was working at. Some like my aunt should have to go through so much to learn English and wait to get hire. It was a cold day on a Saturday morning when my aunt and I decided to go for a run by kozner and north and saw a big sign that said “Now Hiring” at Cook Brothers. My first aunt decided to ask if there were any positions available like a part-time position. After asking questions then she decided to apply for stocking which is opening boxes
