To explain Brofenbrenner’s ecological system of Theory, I will be talking about myself. The microsystem is the people and places I interact on a daily basis. It not only changes me but changes the environment as well. The factors that influenced my development as I grown up was my family, school, and neighborhood.
In the microsystem, my family influenced how I mature into adulthood. My mother took care of me and my siblings when she was home from work. Despite the financial issue in the family, my mom ensured that we were well nurtured and loved. The bond that I shared with my mom, made me grew up to be a happy person. Every time I struggled, she encouraged us to do our best and make the best in every situation. With that reassurance and emotional support, it gave me this confidence that I should not doubt myself. She always pushed me to try again after I failed so many times. So I kept studying harder every day to improve myself. Furthermore, I always behaved so nicely and happily due to the interaction with my mom. It can include the socioeconomic status of the person, race, and living area. I am a Korean immigrant that came from Argentina to Maryland when I was three. The culture that my parents strongly believed in is education and respect. My mom raised me to be very polite to others and would discipline me if I was rude. It taught me that I can’t do what I want to do all the time. The reason for this that it might upset the other people so I have to change my behavior when interacting with other people. So I ask people in other household if I need to take my shoes before entering and asking permission to enter room in households.
