When he got to the church, he was escorted to the front row with other young sinners. He described the way that the preachers were preaching with moans and shouts saying, “Won’t you come? Won’t you come to Jesus? Young lambs, won’t you come?” (549). Some of the young sinners cried and felt Jesus right away. But the other ones sat there. After time, the preacher and the other old people praying for the young sinners had mostly all of them had been saved, except for one boy and Hughes. The other boy named Westley and Hughes were still sitting down waiting to see Jesus. Westley seem to have had enough and lied about being saved. Hughes was the only kid left to be saved, so he thought about what had Westley did and thought about doing the same as something as Westley. So he did, Hughes to lied about being saved so he wouldn’t disappoint his aunt about not seeing Jesus. Then after the revival, they went home and he wept in his room knowing he did wrong about lying. After his experience at revival he confessed to himself, “…. that I hadn’t seen Jesus, and that now I didn’t believe there was a Jesus anymore, since he didn’t come to help me”
