Lang 120 Reflection

When I first came to college, I was scared to take a college level English class. In high school, I slacked off all of my English classes due to the fact that all teachers taught pointless lessons. In addition, students would get A’s or B’s for the words that are on paper rather than the critical analyzes. Lang 120 is the first English class to step away from my passive writing and challenge myself more on critical analyzes and the stages of writing. In my Lang 120 class with Professor Pisano, I learned how to connect information together, how to actively gather sources, and effectively communicate with an audience.

I appreciate Pisano opening a day for us to go to Ramsey Library as a class to better understand how to their resource and little tips on writing papers. A problem that I was having was being able to finding specific information from the internet. Most of the time, I get information that does not relate to what I was main topics I wanted to find. The librarian alleviates this by recommending me some websites. A great source that I found was ProQuest. ProQuest was a website that I use to get peer-reviewed articles. My favorite part about ProQuest was how the website gives an overview before jumping straight into the extended version. I see myself using ProQuest in my future papers where I need some good sources.
I never knew how to do annotated bibliography before taking this class. First, in the annotated bibliography, I summarized what I read. Next, I analyzed in my own words the source I found reliable. Lastly, I ingrate my paper and saw how it would be useful for supporting my paper. After this process was complete, I would start with the paper process paper. There were times where I got lost in my paper. Thanks to the annotated bibliography, I would come back to it to get reminded what source I need to put in the body structure of the
