Laney's Shadow

Decent Essays
Everyone has a shadow but hers was different. When there was no sun, her shadow was there. When she was in total darkness, her shadow was still there. Her name was Laney Johansen. She was a tall, 14-year old girl, with pink streaks outlining her dark brown hair. It had been three months since her shadow had become unlimited. Now, she had finally begun to realize the shadow was strange. Sometimes when she was walking down the street and she turned back to look at it, Laney would notice that the shadow wasn’t moving exactly like her. When she lifted up her right arm, the shadow showed the left and when it was the left the right was shown. The shadow had always been a mystery to Laney until one Monday mid September came and everything changed.
