The claim that Lane Wallace presents in the article “Is Survival Selfish” is that there is a very blurry line between being selfish or heroic. The two can be very similar it all depends on the circumstances. Sometimes people freeze up or run straight into the flames of a situation. Everyone has a different viewpoint on whether a persons actions were stupid or self-centered. There should be no judgment until you are put into the same position. Some people are quick on there feet and are up to the challenge and know what to do, because they have been in a similar situation. While others are just in shock and react to the situation poorly, but when they look at it sometimes they realize that they could have mad better decisions.
