Land of the Free? Imagine that you’re the head of the marketing department for an Apple store. You sell 63 iPhones that week, and life is good. Everything about your job satisfies you. Nothing goes against your right as an American citizen, everything is in accordance of how America was originally established, and you’re not being forced by the government to do something you’re not comfortable with. But let’s say that you go to work on Monday and that all falls apart. Your boss tells you that you need to bump the numbers on the sales report. He isn’t suggesting it. He is forcing it. That suddenly takes away all three reasons as to why you like your job. The boss isn’t giving you the choice as an American citizen to not do what he is asking. This demand is also clearly going against what the Bible has to say about lying. And the boss isn’t just a boss anymore. He’s a dictator. This situation sounds pretty rough, doesn’t it. Now come back to reality and realize how down to earth this subject is. Imagine the employee is a city clerk who issues marriage licenses. And the boss is the government who wants to strip you of your rights by forcing you to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Should these people have to bow to the demands of the government even when it violates their own personal morals and beliefs? I don’t believe so. City clerks should not have to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples because it violates their rights as an American…
