In the lesson Cindy and I had planned for the Week 6 Tutorial for the Unit LAN1260, the specific learning goal was to present and justify a point of view relating to a prediction about the content of a text and to clarify the understand of content as it unfolds in formal and informal situations allowing student’s to connect ideas of their own experiences presenting and justifying a point of view. Students were introduced to the key learning goal and were given an example of the task to be completed. Using a cover of a book with title covered, break down the possible meaning of the book cover by breaking down the photo using pre-explained photo elements of colour use, camera angles, facial expressions and body language. By revealing title of the book, Cindy and I justified our own personal point of view of the book cover and predicted the book content on the basis of photo elements we saw and our personal experiences. There are many things that I know I need work on during my teaching. When I teach a lesson I am going to make many changes. First, I am going to revise time management and ability to conduct a lesson. I realize that this will come with more practice teaching; however, I think I can do a much better job. When I teach, I also would like to incorporate more thought-provoking questions into my lessons. Right now, I do ask questions, but they are usually returned with one-word responses. I believe that right now I am still very nervous, but I think if I write questions down before class I can use them and build off of them to make my students think more. I know that there are areas I need to work on but I do believe I can use this first lesson as a building block to better my skills as a
