The Holmes County Sheriff's Office is investigating the murder of a James L. Rowe Jr., 42, of 7542 County Road 22, Loudonville, who allegedly died after being stabbed multiple times by Bobbi L. Amos-Camacho, 43, of the same address, according to Chief Deputy Richard Haun.
After attempts at CPR and other life-saving measures proved unsuccessful, Rowe was pronounced dead at 11:46 p.m. by first responders from Western Holmes Fire District.
Deputies and emergency personnel were dispatched to the residence after Amos-Camacho called 9-1-1 at 10:39 p.m. to report Rowe had accidentally cut himself while sharpening a knife.

The body was initially examined by acting Holmes County Coroner Dr. John Vacarello and has been transported to Stark County Coroner’s Office for autopsy.

The case will be forwarded to the Holmes County Prosecutor's Office for review, and Amos-Camacho remains in custody pending an appearance in Holmes County Municipal Court.
Holmes County's last homicide occurred in January 2014 and involved the death of 26-year-old Tiffany Doney. Subsequent to an investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, it was determined Doney was fatally shot with a shotgun by her boyfriend, Robert G. McVicker, who also died at the home the two had shared from a self-inflicted shotgun wound.
Acknowledging it's a crime that seldom occurs in Holmes County, Sheriff Timothy W. Zimmerly said, “It's always very sad to see a violent crime take place in our community. It affects family and children, who have lost a loved one. We need to keep them in our prayers. We don't like to see this type of thing happen, but it does.”
