Faith Kennedy, RN, MSN is the manager and full-time registered nurse at Lakeview Place. She and her husband Brain have owned the facility since 2008. Mrs. Kennedy has a Master’s degree in Adult Health Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has experience in general medical-surgical, neurological, psychiatric, and gerontolgical nursing. She also has an associate degree in nursing instructor.
The agency is a very nice facility. It don’t look like your regular living assisted, looks more like a home. The patients seem very happy and comfortable. The nurses assumes the role of the case manager in their facility, as most residents have good family support to assist them in obtaining needed social services. Financial needs, many residents cannot afford the assistance and care needed to remain healthy and safe. Medicare and Medicaid do not pay for custodial care (ADL assistance, non-nursing care). Also mental health Medicare and more particularly Medicare “assignment” plans greatly limit reimbursement for mental health services. There are some programs available in the community to assist the elderly, but some are not widely known to the population.
