Lakeview Middle School is located in Parkville, Missouri. Lakeview attends 7th and 8th graders only and the students are separated by pods. Lakeview has a 1:1 laptop program, which means giving students their own laptops to work with. They also reward their students for numerous things like having good grades, being respectful, and not bullying with incentive parties.
Here at Lakeview, the teachers, staff, and most of the students don’t prohibit bullying. We have our 4 rules we follow by which are: Students at Lakeview will not bully others, we will stand up for students who are being bullied, we will help other students who are being bullied, and we will tell a teacher or a parent at home if being bullied. Lakeview runs a program called Olweus. Olweus is a program used to help stop bullying. During this program, students will make posters, to inform and try to stop bullies from bullying. They will put these posters up all around the school. If you are bullying others on school premises, you will get extreme consequences such as out of school suspensions. And every student has to sign a permission slip at the beginning of the year giving them permission to take their laptop home. But you also have to agree to other things such as promising to take care of it, meaning no foods and drinks near it. And if it were to somehow break then there would be a replacement plan that you would sign in the beginning of the year, which was kind of like insurance. Also here at Lakeview we are allowed to bring our phones (cellular devices) to school but you have to keep in your locker turned off during class time unless prohibited by a teacher to use then it is
