Lake Tahoe Blue Research Paper

Keep Lake Tahoe Blue? Almost half the cars in the Lake Tahoe area have “Keep Tahoe Blue” stickers on them. Environmentalists are panicking about how one of Nevada’s most profitable tourist magnets is losing its vibrant, blue color. Environmentalists blame quite a few things that may contribute to the lake losing its color, but one of the most important causes of this problem is overlooked by many people. The first cause people often think of is boating. They think, “Oh, Tahoe is not blue anymore! We should ban 2-Stroke motors!” Boating may be a concern since some boats leak oil and some boaters dump bilge into the lake, but it is only a small concern since strict boating inspections are required before boats are allowed on the lake to ensure …show more content…
