This is a paradox of sustainable development, with regards to ecotourism, as something gets better in quality people will demand it at a higher quantity (Gould, Lewis p273). In the late 1900’s we begin to see a complete switch, from a resource dependent region, to an ecotourism industry. With policy following the industry change, it became more economically feasible to allocate large funds for the benefit of the ecotourism industry.
