a. Recently, the path around Laurel Lakes became accessible to individuals with disabilities. Before, you had to walk down a hill or step over the curb in order to reach the path. Now, there is a ramp the leads from the parking lot right to the path. However, there is only one ramp, located at the main parking lot. There are several parking lots surrounding the lake in which people who are going to the lake park. Of course, all of the parking lots have handicap parking, so they should also be accompanied by ramp to access the path at different entrances.

As the ramp at the lake did, the ramps and wheelchairs at the Fairland Sports & Aquatics Complex allow for individuals with disabilities to get exercise, but in the water. For individuals with physical disabilities that may be painful, being in the water reduces stress on joints and muscles, reducing pain. Water exercise is often recommended for individuals with MS because water draws heat away from the body. Heat often causes the symptoms of MS to heighten
c. Having the accessible golf carts allows for individuals with disabilities to take part in recreational activities just like everyone else. This helps the individuals with disabilities feel equal to their peers; they can do the same activities as their non-disabled counterparts can. They no longer have to be separated from normal life.
d. These two crosswalks allow for safe travel of individuals with disabilities. When the cut out in the media was narrow, I only saw people without physical disabilities crossing the street there. Now, I constantly see individuals in wheelchairs and on scooters crossing the street safely. Individuals can now travel without having to depend on others to get them to where they need to
