How To Catch Ladyfish: A Complete Guide For All Who Wish To Know
Personally, I would recommend a ladyfish as the perfect target for the first try of an amateur angler. Here's why. They are perfect fighters and you should expect them to make every possible attempt to jump their way out of the hook.
Without the right guidance, they could easily slip away. I once had these problems too, wondering exactly how I could improve my angling skills and have sufficient return on my fishing investment. The insight I have gained so far angling ladyfish is laid bare within these writings with a few rare tips that could help you fish like a pro.

Should your fishing expedition be in open estuaries, then while an ultra light tackle would provide you with a memorable fight, a light tackle should be perfect?
However, if you are in a tight corner within estuarine backwaters, then you should use a medium reel. Personally, these are my preferred gears:
What You'll Need:
7-foot Spinning rod
Light spinning reel
Bait - live bait or artificial bait
Line - this is the second most important thing after bait.
Nose pliers - these are to remove the ladyfish from the hook
Towels - are useful in grabbing the fish while unhooking it
1. Spinning Rod

This should provide you with ease of use and control. Generally, my spinning rod should be about 7-foot fast action rod. Fast action rods help you feel the action below with greater sensitivity and lure easily

2. Light Spinning Rod

My recommendation, get a light spinning reel with a 4 – 8 pound test line.
