Then, after hearing the witches tell him what his future holds, he tells his wife. She takes control of their relationship and tells Macbeth that they need to plan the death of Duncan. Macbeth knows that killing Duncan, the king, to gain power was immoral. Despite Macbeth’s moral conscience, his wife persuaded him by challenging his masculinity, which weakens and allows Macbeth’s moral conscience to be engulfed by evil.
