Shakespeare injects pathos into the lives of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. With the inquiring death of their child, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder may have been a factor in the judgement of Lady Macbeth’s decisions. She feared Macbeth, being entirely composed on “the milk of human kindness,” (Act 1, scene 5, line 15) would not perpetuate the plan of regicide. Lady Macbeth’s strong desire to obey the prophecy allowed her to convince Macbeth to kill the king. Whether her actions were from the death of her child or not, she acted on her ambition without remorse. Macbeth’s prophecy was commenced on behalf of Lady Macbeth’s aggressive initiative. Furthermore, Lady Macbeth became extensively concentrated with such hopes to pursue the prophecy that each alternative set Macbeth on his path, thus questioning her loyalty. …show more content…
Failing her role as a wife, these words of encouragement grew more hostile once doubts arose from the plan. As a wife she should have been faithful and devoted to Macbeth, while her role as a citizen required her to be patriotic, respecting the one in charge. However, questioning Macbeth’s manhood: “When durst do it, then you are a man” (Act 1, scene, 7, line 49) and being the sole instigator of the King’s death gave a controversial side to where her loyalties lied. With Lady Macbeth’s contentious loyalties, her consequential ambitions had serious affects on her
