One of the factors that add up to Macbeth’s fault is his ambitiousness that drove him to consider Lady Macbeth’s proposition. In his soliloquy (Act 1, Scene 4), “Stars hide your fire and don’t let any light shine on my dark and deep desire. In Act 1, Scene 3 (p. 18) he said, “My stupid brain is full of irrelevant details,” which gives the readers the idea that at this point in time, earlier before his arrival to his home, he already have thoughts clouding his mind. The irrelevant details he is saying are possibly his mind fighting whether to do such kind of mortal sin. Also in Act 1, Scene 4, (p.19) Duncan states, “You cannot tell what’s in a man’s mind by looking at his face,” and this tells us that Macbeth’s reputation can deceive people and even covers up his evil and selfish desires. According to him,” My violent love was stronger than my better judgment (Act 2, Scene 3, p.43),” and it is obviously indicated that Macbeth’s judgment is influenced by his deep love for his wife. It seems that he is willing to do everything for his wife even if it is against his good nature. To add up, in Act 1, Scene 7 (p.28), he said,” Give birth to boys only! Because your resolute strength should make nothing but males. It has to be believed that his own people did it, so we’ll use their daggers and smear their bodies with his blood.” At this point, after all Lady Macbeth’s persuasion to kill the King, he fell to her own control.
