The tragedy of Macbeth is fueled by one thing: the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Macbeth is set in Scotland near what's likely to be the 11th century. In the play, Macbeth is a noble hero on the battlefield. His character changes after he comes back home and kills the King. In Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, the murder of the King incites a change in gender roles in Macbeth and Lady Macbeth to justify the deaths in the play. In Act One, Macbeth is influenced to kill the King and struggles to commit to the act.
