Lady Macbeth Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Analysis

Shakespeare wrote a play called macbeth based on the actual man that took the throne of scotland in 1040 Just like in the play macbeth killed his cousin king duncan in order to become king. The play is mainly based on two characters Lady Macbeth and Macbeth. Throughout the play Lady Macbeth shows symptoms that would be diagnosed as post-traumatic stress disorder. Post traumatic stress disorder that develops in some people who have experienced a shocking, scary, or dangerous event. Lady Macbeth shows symptoms of this disorder because of her mood throughout the play changes. Also because she has trouble sleeping, feeling guilt, and cannot maintain a relationship with her husband. The first obvious symptom of post traumatic stress disorder that Lady Macbeth shows is the way she shows the guilt she feels about the death of the king. In the play it says,” It is an accustomed action with her, to seem thos washing her hands” (Mac. 5.1.23-24).
