“Murder!” Lady Macduff yelled furiously whilst navigating the long, dim hallway of her husband’s castle. The large window she passed exposed a huge cliff face, with the coast of Fife immediately below. The waves slammed heavily like cymbals on the rocks, whilst slithers of moonlight danced elegantly on the water. As she turned a corner Lady Macduff saw the deep red colour of her assailant’s cape, the threat of death once again appeared.
“You cannot run forever Lady Macduff, God help you in your deadly struggle!” the murderer chanted in a macabre tone.

“You really are stupid, are you not?” silence followed, irritated, the murderer rose his voice. “In the name of God, woman! Macbeth does not trust your husband. If he is to remain the King of Scotland all competitive bloodlines that threaten his crown must be erased. You must die, we plot to murder him next!”
Abruptly, a thunderous crack of lighting gave life to the night sky, shattering the window in the room; shards of glass like millions of tiny birds taking to flight showered the five. At this, Lady Macduff sprinted for the door, but one of the sisters, she was unsure which, jerkily spread open her hands and muttered an inaudible rhyme; the door slammed shut. She stood against the door still gripping the Bible over her chest. The four beings in the room moved to form a semicircle closing around her with each large but slow pace.
The choir repeated in unison, “All hail Macbeth, anyone who doesn’t will face certain death.”
As they approached closer Lady Macduff slowly dropped to her knees, the small cuts on her legs from the glass began to sting as they made contact with the cold hard floor.
