Lady Macbeth Diary Entry

The day has finally come, today is the coronation day of our new king, King Macbeth. There has been many suspicions surrounding the death of our previous, and well beloved, King Duncan who died while in the house of Macbeth. Our king, god rest his soul, was murdered in his sleep whilst under Macbeth’s roof. I too have my suspicions, however I tend to value keeping my head on my body as opposed to speaking out against our new king. Macbeth is already known for having erratic and unpredictable behavior. Some speculate that this is due to his time in war; however, some speculate that there may be more to him than meets the eye.

Are you a man?” I sit, attempting to follow the words of the lady. My stomach still growling, I put my full focus on my food and attempt to eat and occupy my mind in hopes of ignoring the situation as the lady so kindly instructed. However, I could not help but find this act odd, much like the rest of my fellow man. These strange actions are most odd of a king and can only foreshadow a horrible rule under a mad king. Mad kings are not uncommon for our land, however one who fears inanimate objects can only be troublesome for the land. As I leave the banquet, I can’t help but reflect on the events that have come to past. Will my land be torn apart by the rule of yet another mad king? How many loved ones must die to fuel his insanity? My disappointment in our new king knows no bounds. Why would a king destroy his reputation on his coronation if not for some fundamental issue with his personality? Perhaps King Macbeth will be the king that tears our land a sunder and engulfs the land in war. Only time will tell and I must return home to see my loved ones and inform them of the events that have
