Lady Macbeth Comparison

Often in life couples share similarities and differences. In the Shakespeare’s play Macbeth this statement is implemented profoundly in an emotional, futuristic and ambitious take.Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are both utterly ambitious people in the sense that they do not slack in determination towards their aspiration. Lady Macbeth’s true power-hungry colours are unveiled when she states, “Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark /to cry“Hold, hold!” (1.5.56-57) in a soliloquy. Lady Macbeth is extremely determined to make her husband a king; she is willing to kill the king who resembles her father. The big picture is the level of ambition which connects these malevolent characters. Macbeth is substantially futuristic than Lady Macbeth, considering his thoughtfulness towards upcoming consequences. Macbeth is troubled that the witches’ prophecy of Banquo’s descendants becoming future kings will happen. Macbeth asks, “Hie you to horse/Adieu, Till your return at night/ Goes Fleance with you?”(3.1.38-39) Macbeth cleverly uses his friend to clear his future path for kingship. The horse ride is a way to kill two birds with an arrow and for the murder Banquo and his son Fleance to be secretive in the woods. While Macbeth plans ahead for the upcoming days Lady Macbeth is comforting him and asks him to act pleasantly towards the arriving guests.
