Lady Macbeth shows her presence of mind many times throughout the book. For example, when she is planning the murder, or when Macbeth doesn’t finish the murder, she remains calm and finishes what Macbeth started (Shakespeare). She loses her presence of mind only two times in the play. She loses it when she found out that, during her planning of King Duncan’s murder, he wants to come and stay with Lady Macbeth and Macbeth at their castle. She also loses her presence of mind another time when she is sleep walking after the murder. She is unable to sleep soundly at night, because even though during the day she act like nothing is wrong and that she is innocent, when she sleeps, her conscious got the best of her. When this happens she talks about how guilty she feels and she tries to wash the blood of King Duncan off her hands, even though her hands are already clean
