Lady Macbeth Evil Character Analysis

Lady Macbeth is like two people, one before the murder and one after. In the beginning she is a ruthless, harsh, ambitious, cruel, heartless and clever woman with no conscience. She makes her decisions without hesitation or thought of consequences that she may face. This is shown when she reads Macbeth 's letter about the prophecies that the witches have told him about and she decides to murder the King. Lady Macbeth is a manipulative wife who believes that her husband is cowardly and she believes that men are supposed to be violent, aggressive, fierce and brave. Due to the fact that her husband is kind hearted she taunts him and makes him feel degraded. Lady Macbeth wishes that she were a man so she could commit the murder herself. Lady Macbeth is the one who starts to create chaos, without her the murder would have never been carried out. She manipulates Macbeth into killing the King. Lady Macbeth brings out the darkness in Macbeth. He discovers a side of himself which he cannot back down from, without Lady Macbeth this would have not happened. This darkness creates disorder in Scotland because of the many innocent people Macbeth had killed. He murders his friend Banquo and he also murders Lady Macduff and her children. Not only do they create chaos in Scotland, but they create it within themselves. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth murder sleep. Sleep represents innocence, purity and order. Macbeth has visions and nightmares this is the chaos he creates for himself, on the other hand Lady Macbeth sleepwalks. Her chaos turns into guilt which she cannot escape.
