Lady Macbeth, the mastermind behind the murderer, the cold-hearted witch that is responsible for the death of so many lives, and the downfall of a nation’s ruling. This woman is the one to blame, the one to blame for her own husband’s death, my beloved family’s death and taking my life. This woman is not worthy of a peaceful afterlife, she is worthy of suffering just like she made all those others. She planted a seed of greed in Macbeth’s mind, persuading him to execute the King so they could take his place in ruling Scotland. Lady Macbeth was persistently taunting him for his absence of courage and playing on his insecurities when he questioned killing King Duncan. Telling him that he would become more of a man if he did, "When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would; Be so much more the man" (Act 1 Scene 7). Macbeth loved and trusted his wife, he was vulnerable to her opinions and suggestions and look where it lead him. Lady Macbeth is responsible for those heartless, callous deeds. Lady Macbeth was the one desperate for the throne, she craved the power and played Macbeth to get exactly what she wanted. “Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe top-full, of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood. Stop up the access and passage to remorse.” (Act 1 Scene 5) She begged to be stripped of any remaining female qualities and replace those will male qualities; qualities that would enable her to be ruthless enough to assassinate the King. Wanting her blood to be made so thick stopping any feelings of remorse and compassion from reaching her mind. Insisting that she wouldn 't have hesitated to take her own baby and dash the brains out. Showing that her womanhood, impeded her from performing acts of violence and cruelty so she lived through Macbeth, longing his masculinity.
