Lady Jags: The Journey To Success

The journey to victory is one bumpy never ending road of madness fueled by repeated failure and pure motivation and desire. By the end of the road trip the failure is no longer seen as an obstacle or a dead end, but rather a fiery motive to reach the ultimate goal. Various well known successes were once categorized as a so called failure. All victories or accomplishments have losses that are used as motivation and determination to take a leap towards victory like all great successes have done multiple times before. To start off, even one of the most intelligent people to ever walk the earth has had step backs or problems with his studies. The Nobel Peace Prize Winner was expelled from his school for reckless behavior. Even though he …show more content…

At several of the large competitions throughout the season they cracked under pressure and showed it in their routines. Knowing the feeling of having your team be called second place made the team train 10 times harder for the largest and hardest competitions of the entire season, The Cheerleading Worlds. The perseverance the team held was unstoppable, and helped all the girls on the team form incredibly close bonds with one another. In the end, their amazing efforts and the blood sweat and tears they threw into their routines made them take home the golden globe that weekend at Worlds. Without the roughness of the rest of the season, their motivation might not have been as glorious as it was. So might believe hard times or failures don't necessarily help. They might say,” Many sports teams go an entire season undefeated.” That isn’t to say they didn’t have bad past years or bad practices. Also, athletes individually might have a bad day. Excerpt from Brain Jack by Brian Falkner: “‘Why suddenly self-destruct when you’ve already won?’” (165). I chose this excerpt because of its simplistic but yet meaningful message. It conveys a message to people who are having or hardships or issues within their life. It basically means that a person should not become stressed out or depressed about issues because in the eventually, that person is going to succeed.…

The vocabulary words I chose are triumph, which means a great victory or achievement and pragmatist, someone who is practical and focused on reaching a goal. The reason they both apply is because in every chapter, the individuals who become underdogs possess both of these qualities. In chapter one David was pragmatic in his approach in defeating Goliath with alternate war tactics (rock slinging vs. armor/weaponry) and in the end was triumphant. Randadive, was triumphant in mastering the unconventional strategy of full court press; the Turkish armies irrepressible trek through turmotulous conditions in the desert, in order to triumph in battle. Then, Boeis, pragmatically pursuing his law degree despite his tremendous perceived learning disadvantage.…

Everyone has a different perspective and interpretation about failure. Some people see failure as an unpleasant thing or a limitation of their capabilities, while others see failure as a learning opportunity or a guide on how to become better. For example, in the article, “Want to Get Into College? Learn to Fail,” the author, Angel B. Perez, implies that failure should not be feared because it is not as harmful as most people think it is. He points out that failure is necessary if we want to succeed in college and in life.…

Have you ever received a trophy, but realized you didn’t do much to deserve it? Well, many kids have a variety of trophies in their room, but most of the trophies were given when the children didn’t do anything to earn it. All kids shouldn't get a trophy because it teaches life skills, children can work hard to show the coach they want one, and kids could be able to build their self-esteem on their own. First of all, some people think that, kids should always get a little something for showing up, but others believe that coaches should show their players that in life they won’t win all the time and they need to learn to lose.…

No one can have too much enthusiasm; the more willing and excited one is to do something, the better they become at doing it. The most enthusiastic people are ones who are in national sports leagues, where they are exposed to the crowds almost every day and have to play at their best level. They must have a certain mindset that makes them seek victory, as it is the ultimate goal and what they are striving for. Less enthusiastic people never complete their goals and are limited to what they can accomplish. More eagerness means more opportunities for one to succeed; it also enforces a positive attitude for others and encourages them as well.…

Throughout my short eighteen years of life thus far, I have had a great privilege of playing on all sorts of teams. Consequently, because of that I learned an endless amount of the differences between a successful team and a team who more or less struggles. However, most of my team's success occurred when I was younger. Which was great because I developed positive attitudes towards sports along with all my teammates and we all just formed into a big unit, and we pretty much were a dominant machine in virtually every sport. Laughter was always the main part through all of our success.…

Which is more beneficial, team sports or individual sports? When comparing team and individual sports, most people do not realize how easy it is to pick out the similarities and differences the two have. Individual and team sports have the same main purpose, but the motivation, competitiveness, and life skills set them apart. In athletics, most athletes set goals for themselves, whether it is a personal goal or a team goal. It is pretty easy to set a goal, but the person setting the goal may never reach it without motivation.…

In the song "Win" written by Brian McKnight, I liked how the author expressed the theme of never give up through the whole song. An example of this was when " I'll never give up, never give in, never let a ray of doubt slip in, and if I fall, I'll never fail. I'll just get up and try again. "the reason why I like this part is because the author expressed hoe he will not give up and even if he fails once he will keep trying and nothing can stop him from getting succeed. It is good to see his thought through his song because some people give up when they failed but this is wrong and what the author is trying to tell those people is it does not matter if you fails or not what is matter is to ignoring the judgments ad doubts and keep moving forward.…
