I believe she is using imagery here so she can compare how she is suffering, to how much the Jews suffered. During the Holocaust, the Nazi’s skinned the Jews which is very painful, so basically she is saying …show more content…
She thinks she is just an object for men. So if she died, people would only be seeing an object going away, or deteriorating. Not an actual person dying. I believe this imagery here, increases the meaning of the poem because it gives us a sense on how lonely she is, which is sad. It also shows us that she does not think very highly of herself. Overall, I believe that she used imagery throughout her poem, and that it is very important. She uses a lot of descriptive, and figurative language to get her point across. Without imagery, we would not have been able to see what she is going through, and we would not have been able to connect to the poem as much. Imagery in the poem, lets us visualize and understand the kind of pain she is going through. Her use of imagery makes her words have a stronger effect, and overall makes the meaning of the poem
