The story of Romeo and Juliet is about two star-crossed lovers from feuding families. In this tragedy, written by William Shakespeare, two adolescents separated by a held grudge between their families meet at a large party hosted by the Capulet family. The two, Romeo and Juliet, have an instant connection. The morning after the party, the two lovers eloped. The Friar, who agreed to marry the two, thought it would solve the everlasting feud. Thus, causing a series of tragic events leading to the eventual resolution of the two feuding families. The feud between the Capulets and the Montagues eventually causes the death of their children. Juliet’s family life is unhealthy and neglectful. In the story, the Nurse remembers all of the times she and her husband were with Juliet like they were just yesterday. Lady Capulet continues to shush the Nurse showing that she does not care to hear her stories. Lady Capulet has no interest in Juliet’s childhood unless it has something to do with herself. Juliet is not the only child who suffers from poor parenting by her birth parents. Romeo’s home life was not at all flawless either. In the tragedy, Romeo was a hopeless romantic. At the beginning, Romeo was lusting after Rosaline, and old crush, but she did not love him back. Romeo moped around until Mercutio and Benvolio talked him into enjoying himself by crashing the Capulet’s party. After seeing Juliet, he was lost for words. Romeo’s family life ties into his love life. His parents, like Juliet’s, have a poor relationship with their son. The lack of attention Romeo received as a child correlates with his love life, which causes him to be somewhat unstable Romeo’s parents were far from perfect, and if it were not for Benvolio and Mercutio, Romeo would have killed himself long before. The Montagues unwillingly allowed their son’s life to end. Lastly, the two lovers allowed their families and their own foolishness to push them to their death. Romeo and Juliet were both foolish when it came to their relationship. In the tragedy, they snuck behind their families’ backs and married. They were cowards, but they had their reasons. They both knew how hard-headed their parents are, so they wanted to avoid giving them a chance to separate them from each other. Also, if they had communicated more and figured out all the details, their deaths could have possibly been avoided. This to be blamed of Friar Lawrence. FRIAR LAWRENCE.
