No One Wants To Be A Lacrosse Goalie
Do you know what position in a sport requires you to be mentally unstable, goalie? Who would want to sit around and not score in a sport? Who would want to take shots at upwards of 90-100 miles per hour straight to the shins with no protective gear over them? Well, those points are exactly why everyone says they don’t want to be a lacrosse goalie. No one wants to be a lacrosse goalie. Yes, the ball does hurt, they have that right. Yes, there is a huge amount of stress involved with the position, they have that right. Yes, people may say they could be a goalie too. Yes, I might be mentally unstable.

The goalie could blame the rest of the team, but if the goalie does that, they’re not a good goalie. The goalie has to blame at least, let’s say 100% of the goals scored on themselves, because everything is their fault, is what I would say, but that’s just rude. There is a way to tell if it’s on the goalie or not. If the shot comes from far away and it goes in, goalie. If it’s only about 7 feet from the goal, defense. If the goalie only lets 5 goals in the entire game and the team loses 5-4, offense. You see, the game can go any way, at any time. But most of the time, people will blame the goalie for the team’s loss. All that put together, it puts a lot of stress on the goalie’s shoulders. It puts a lot of pressure on the goalie to live up to their expectations of you, which most of the time, are way out of your reach. The thing is though, how would people know beforehand that there will be a lot of stress on themselves? Simple, most people don’t start playing lacrosse as a goalie. Usually, what happens is the coach will make them a goalie, because either they don’t have one, or need one. The stress of being put into a unique situation can also do that. But the thing is,
