Another possible ethical issue in this case study is abusive or intimidating behaviour by the supervisors in the treatment of their crews. The crew of new employees is getting yelled at simply for not knowing how to do a job. It could be suggested that overly controlling behaviours of the supervisors is abusive. The supervisors do not seem to be concerned with how the staff feel about things, or their welfare. They are also not responding to the crew’s grievances. It could be argued that Joe is not responding to the crew’s grievances either, as the issues between the crew and supervisors have only continued to get worse.
2) Joe’s leadership style is more Free-reign. He was always working with the crew, doing the same things they were and did not over assert his authority. Joe also allowed the crew to make some decisions. He let them decide who would do which job at a house, what pace to work at, and how long they would take at each house. The crew was also allowed to start their lunch break when they wanted to, as long as it was between 11:30 and 12:30, and only lasted an hour. Joe also let the crew use their own ideas and methods to complete the work, but would show them how to do something if they needed him to.
The supervisors Joe hired on the other hand have an autocratic leadership style. They make all of the decisions and expect the crew to do everything the way they want it done, in the time period they
