Lace Injustice Methods

Decent Essays
I didn't know how to tie my laces for a long time. I tried all the methods people showed me; spinning the laces which are snakes, into loops and tie them to make a knot, and tying a lace around a loop to create a knot. No matter which method I tried I would never succeed. Whenever I tried to tie my laces I would tuck my laces into my shoes because when I tried to tie shoes I had with laces on them, the laces would always come apart, and I ended up just sitting there like a rock. One method I used to use to tie my laces was to spin the laces around each other once and tie them multiple times, but the laces quickly came apart.

My mom decided to change that I didn't know how to tie my laces. She told me to go to the front door and practice tying

Midterm 1. Decide as an appellate judge based on the law that you have learned whether the police had a legitimate exigency based on the 4th Amendment and whether the trial judge should have suppressed the marijuana cigarette as evidence. In King v. State the trial judge should NOT suppressed the marijuana blunt as evidence. In the article,” Nike's self-lacing sneakers finally go on sale November 28th” by James Vincent, discusses Nike’s product of self-lacing sneakers. As mentioned in the article, the shoe has a variety of different features,” Each shoe has an internal cable system made from fishing line and a pressure sensor in the sole. When you put your foot in, the cables tighten based on "an algorithmic pressure equation," and this fit can be adjusted throughout the day with a pair of buttons near the tongue.” Also, this shoe has LED’s, so one does have to charge it, once the battery appears to be low. The price for the sneakers is unknown, however, it probably will be exceptionally set high when it is eventually sold in select Nike locations in the US come…

On November 7, 2014, Thomas MacMillan wrote an article of why Restorative Justice Can Bring About the Healing Process. Restorative Justice is, “ Participants gather in circles to try to resolve problems through discussion, rather retribution.” So why would Restorative Justice not work if it helps people heal. Three good reasons why Restorative Justice does work is because it stops student violence, reduces suspensions, and helps troubled teens to open up to the problem.…

I agree with both you and Sarah, restorative justice should be seen as an alternative punishment. Even though physical pain is not inflicted on the offender restorative justice upholds "the process of acknowledging the harm caused and undertakes reparative measures to make an amends, intended to be painful and burdensome for the offender". The offender is being striped of their power in order to make them accountable for the harm they have caused but gives them an opportunity to fix the damaged relationships between the victim and also the community. This form of punishment I believe is most benefical because the offender actually has to admit their wrongs, genuoloy apologize, embrace how the victim feels and make an amends, all these interactions…

Archbishop Desmond Tutu expresses in the following simple yet elegant phrase the philosophies inherent in restorative justice, “…true reconciliation exposes the awfulness, the abuse, the hurt, and the truth…”. The frank exposure of emotional, physical and psychological injury may, however, adversely impact the victim(s) or alleged perpetrator in the short term. While restorative justice can be a risky undertaking, “only an honest confrontation with reality can bring real healing”. In the criminal justice system today in the United States, “real healing” seems to be a secondary principle; priority is given to proving the innocence or guilt of the accused in a trial conducted by a judge with the services of lawyers and the jury. The main stakeholders,…

In most cases of injustice, individuals that do not directly experience unjust acts can generally overlook the fact that the acts occur at all. However, listening to our peers and treating the downtrodden with the same respect we give ourselves can change ignorance into progressive change. Some of the grave injustices of the late twenty first century can be seen when free individuals listen to their currently or previously incarcerated peers. The majority of policies and practices affecting incarcerated people, such as shackling, poor medical attention, and extreme sentencing, successfully serve to restrict bodily rights, despite the existence of a few policies that strive to expand said rights, like fair chance hiring and Farmer Vs. Brennan…

The Injustice in What Is Known as Justice As William Landay once said: “The human element in any system is always prone to error. Why should the courts be any different? They are not. Our blind trust in the system is the product of ignorance…” While several claim that racism in the United States ended with the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, African Americans are still robbed of civil liberties and dignity by the white supremacy that lurks beneath the façade of our alleged democracy today.…
