When you start your own family you want everything to happen perfectly and go along smoothly. You want to buy the perfect house, have perfect children, and have the best dog on the block. Choosing a family pet can be difficult at times. There is researching for different pets, the different breeds , health problems toward the pet you are choosing, finding affordable one’s, and finding ones you will love for a lifetime. America has ranked many sets of dogs and cats based on characteristics, for big and small families, families with newborns and children, people who are antisocial, and some for those sweet little elders in the communities around us. They come in about three different colors, black, chocolate and yellow. Their coats shed seasonally and they require frequent grooming sessions to keep the water resistance on the coats the dogs have. They are beautiful dogs. Labrador Retriever health histories are a plus also. The life span of a Labrador Retriever is about 12-13 years. The average size of the Labrador Retriever is about 65-80 pounds (male) reaching about 22-25 inches and about 55-70 pounds (female) reaching about 21-24 inches. The only negative side to having a Labrador Retriever is that they are highly prone to having cancer, hip dysplasias, entropion, and Osteochondrosis of the ankle and knee. Overall Labrador Retrievers are the best family dogs to have.
