When people are being forced to do something the quality of what they are doing will not be up to the highest standards. Steven Seidenberg once said, “If children and slaves work in your supply chain, there are the possibility of worker unrest, inferior quality products and reduced productivity linked to adverse working conditions” (Seidenberg). It is human nature for people to be upset when they find out they have been manipulated and used. Most of the time people 's first instinct it to leave the situation, but some people are forced to stay because there will be consequences if they leave. The people who cannot leave are not going to enjoy going to work everyday and they are not going to put one hundred percent of their effort into making a product. This causes the quality of the product to not be up to standards as the places where people are treated and paid correctly. The National Human Trafficking Resource Center stated that, “The U.S. Department of Labor has identified 136 goods from 74 countries made by forced and child labor,” (Labor Trafficking). There are many goods that are being produced through force that the United States are aware about. The United States need to step up and help end labor trafficking not only in the United States but worldwide. If the government refuses to purchase any items from other countries that are not doing anything to stop labor traffick it will show that it is not something America supports. Leading by example is one of the most powerful ways to get a point across to many people. If goods stop being purchased, other countries will start to enforce laws that will decrease the amount of victims of labor
