The Benefits Of Veganism

I went to the co-op on Labor Day to get groceries for the week. I witnessed a wide variety of people shopping at this small town version of Whole Foods. There were people all over the spectrum, most notable were a hippie, a family with a mother and 3 children, and a woman with her dog in the store. The hippie rode a bike to the store and he was wearing a super bright tie-dye t-shirt, a long beard and hair down to at least his hips. I admired the hippie man’s simplistic lifestyle choices, obviously opting out of traditional practices like shaving, or brushing hair. The mother with her 3 young children looked like she was struggling to aid all of her children. I appreciated the way she policed her kids. One of the three children was a little …show more content…
Shopping at the co-op contributed positively to this objective because the co-op offers a wide variety of vegan options that are not always available at supermarket stores in Chico. Being vegan is very important to me as of now because of the ways it benefits not only me and my health, but also the wellbeing of animals, and the planet. Veganism allows me to have clearer skin, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save water and save money. These are just a few of the reasons why I choose and have maintained a vegan lifestyle for about 10 months now. …show more content…
In the future I hope I am able to maintain good relationships with the people I am close to now. Having strong relationships with the people I surround myself with is important to my happiness and I plan to sustain these relationships. As of right now I still talk to a lot of my close friends from high school, there are plans in place for us to all visit each other at this time but I’m not sure where we will be in 4 years. The reality is that we all are going to different schools and making new friends, we’re still close now and I can only hope to keep these friendships in the next few years. My parents are moving out of the town I went to school in from kindergarten through senior year of high school, so meeting with old friends I grew up with during school breaks is going to be more difficult. It is challenging to work through schedules and life conflicts but I am optimistic that it could work

Many of the personal goals that I set at the beginning of this semester have become somewhat different and I actually achieved a small portion of them. As I came into college I thought that I would have very difficult time with making new friends and socializing with my peers around me. But to my surprise I was actually pretty decent at it, with that being said one of the goals that I had set for myself was to “Make friends.” Currently I have many different people in my life that weren’t there before, whether it be all the people that live on the floor in my residence hall and even many of my classmates have all had super big impacts on my life. Another goal that I had set for myself was to be more open-minded when it came to going out and trying new things.…

Almost two years ago, in the middle of my sophomore year of high school, I packed up everything and moved from a small town in Georgia to a much larger town in Michigan. I had lived in Georgia for my entire life, and I knew just about everything in Michigan would be different: the accents, the weather, the population of my town, the list goes on. Despite this, I was open to leaving my home state behind. Both of my parents obtained better jobs, and we would be just a few short hours from family that I typically only saw once a year. When I started school in Michigan, I had to adjust to a new schedule and meeting new people.…

All the sources in this paper point out that the vegan diet has been on the rise for some time, and they all discuss the common key nutrients that vegans tend to miss. Also, they all explain the basics of a vegan diet. A lot of these similarities occur because the media sources referenced research articles within their article trying to show that what they were saying was true and accurate. However, it is interesting how all the media sources describe the health benefits associated with a vegan diet, but the authoritative sources barely mention this besides the article on type-2 diabetes. This difference is due to the nature of research studies, which is that they focus in on one thing only.…

The Benefits of Raising a Vegetarian Child In the last decade, many Americans have transitioned to a vegetarian diet. With this shift, they have also transitioned their children into these diets as well. Anthropocentric idealism is destroying the earth; to believe humans are the most important being on the planet is ridiculous, and extremely selfish. Because of this ideal, non domestic animals are considered of lesser value, and are used for our benefit (whether it be for food, clothing, or other goods.) These animals are not afforded the rights that all living beings deserve- the right to a pain free life and the right to live. This is what vegans fight for, they fight for animal rights, and the end of animal based products to create a healthier and more humane earth. Veganism is a lifestyle that aims to avoid as much abuse and exploitation of animals as possible.…

During high school, I learned to be patient, kind, and respectful to children under the age of 12. With this in mind, I believe that I am able to do the same and more with humans that are a couple years younger or older than me. Most of the counselors are energetic, respectful, welcoming, and understanding, but I know that I will contribute those characteristics and more because of my background. Being Vegan makes me a little more understanding of the people that feel like they don’t belong in a group or even society. Being an adventurous person helps me understand other people that also enjoy extreme sports, outdoor activities, and rare things that some people don’t even know about.…

The topic that I’m going to be talking about is veganism, and why people should go vegan. After I’m going to paste it into a word documentary to see my results. Well, to start off for those people that don’t know what vegan means, it means you don’t cosume any animal food, and products, such as meat, cheese, milk, eggs, and honey. You also don’t purchase anything that has done no good to an animal, like buying leather shoes, couches, etc… you also have to watch out for beauty products, because several brands test on animals, they also use minks to make false eyelashes out of. It says so much water, rain forests, and an animals life.…

After its grand opening in 2014, Go Vegetarian is still a thriving restaurant to vegans, vegetarians, and also non-vegetarians. The restaurants ultimate goal is to become one of the first vegan/vegetarian American style food chain restaurant and also they desire to provide vegan food that is not only healthy but also explosive in taste and presentation, but the observations and interviews that I conducted show that this restaurant has a broader impact on its community than just its food. Given that the name of the restaurant is Go Vegetarian it attracts a lot of Vegans/Vegetarians, but I did not know I it attracted so many non-vegetarians. The restaurant really does live up to their mission statement, it’s very culturally diverse; it welcomes people of very different backgrounds, and their community is very calming and considerate.…
