The Vulva begins at the Mons Pubis, a cushioned area of fatty connective tissue in front of the pubic bone, extending from here are two folds of skin containing fatty and fibrous tissue, referred to as the Labia Majora. The Labia Majora run posteriorly a periphery, offering protection to the labia minora, the clitoris and the vestibule, they re-join again at the Perineum. During puberty hair will grow on the Mons Pubis and on the outer layer of Labia Majora leaving the central inner layer of tissue moist and pink in colour.
Within the Labia Majora, there are 2 smaller looser folds of skin around 1-1.5 inches in length called the Labia Minora; they have numerous sebaceous glands to keep the area moist and they are a deeper red in colour due
