ne application of the lab-on-a-chip in medical diagnostics is used to simplify blood tests by creating a hand-held device which offers accurate evaluations of blood chemistry using minute blood samples. As this device will require less blood, just 1μL, blood tests will be easier for patients, ranging from neonatal care to astronauts. In order to assess blood composition, it needs large counting machines, qualified technicians and a great amount of blood which makes it difficult to analyse in space. Large blood draws are not possible with infants which makes lab-on-a-chip a very good alternative instead. Technicians take more blood from patients than needed since the normal blood count machines are big to hold a large amount of samples and multiple
