“True wealth is richness in virtue and the virtuous person is capable of using fortune faithfully”. In today’s world, poverty is an element of every nation’s resources and is visible in every community around the world. Everyone wants to be rich and being poor is something that we all pray and hope to avoid and experience. Unfortunately, poverty is a very common social issue that has been a consistent misfortune for many people. It causes a great tragedy and an abundant joy, therefore we must acknowledge that caring for the people in great needs must be everyone’s obligation. The individuals in extreme necessity has every right to claim a sufficient amount of resources enough for themselves and their family to survive. The individuals within the neighborhood of La Paloma must realize that the possible solution to their problem is to embrace and promote the concept of the common good. “The common good calls us beyond what is beneficial to us personally to what is good for all.” Achieving and maintaining the common good requires the collective effort and will of each individual in the whole neighborhood.
