With no dramatic or compassionate intention, I created "La Noche" to amplify our separation and our unitive annihilation, like a song whispered in the ear of the one who goes, and the one who stays. An ode to everything we experience on this loss, and everything that we know stay forever when the body of the beloved is gone.
This song should be heard by night, in absolute darkness with headphones, to obey the sound after initial resistance. It intends to act as the nail that pierced the veil of the mourning, showing the fullness of the non-place, of what was lost.

Stories such as Uncle Tom’s Cabin, “The Hunters of Men”, and “Civil Disobedience” all have a connection with the fight to gain civil rights and equality. Much of that still carries on into the 21st century we live in today. In Uncle Tom’s Cabin, a woman takes matters into her own hands in order to save her child, showing her strength and bravery that many women in today's time possess as well. “The Hunters of Men”, a short story written by John Greenleaf Whittier, is considered to be a public attack on slave hunters. The public attacks against their government and the way people were treated didn't stop there, in “Civil Disobedience” by Henry David Thoreau, Thoreau made sure to show that the people had more power over the government than they thought.…

Many people fear death at the back of their mind, unconsciously dwelling over the surreal fact that they would have to come face to face with it some day, yet most do not bring themselves to explore it completely until it lurks in the corner or appears on their doorstep. The sonnet “And You as Well Must Die, Beloved Dust” and the dramatic monologue “Identification”, explores the concept of death and how each writer comes to grips with it. Both poems express reactions to the inevitable nature of death and the process of how one digests such a foreign, yet present occurrence. “Identification” is written by a wife who receives the news of her husband’s death and impulsively reasons as to why he simply could not have died. “And You as Well Must…
