La Vita è bella (Life Is Beautiful) is a movie about a man named Guido who tries to shelter his son Giosue from the violence during the World War II. The story is jagged and rough to the audience because it shows the problem of the people during the world war. While the movie also shows gentle and happiness to the viewers because of Guido’s sense of humor. La Vita è bella (Life Is Beautiful) is an Italian movie which is directed by Roberto Benigni. Roberto Benigni who was the director of the movie is also the lead actor of the movie. While NicolettaBraschi portrays as Dora who is the wife of Guido. Also Giorgio Cantarini portrays the role of Giosue or Joshua who is the son of Guido and Dora. And Horst Buchholz serves as Doctor Lessing who likes …show more content…
Giosué asked his father why they are there and where is his mother. Guido responded that it is the place where they will be participating a game which is the prize is a big and real tank. In this part of the film, Guido portrayed wisdom and humour with the game of riddles for Giosuè to complete to earn 1000 points to win a military tank. Also in these situations, Guido’s creativity was shown in making excuses for the question of his son because of the hardships and struggles they are facing in the concentration camp.As he wants to protect his son from the horrors of the Nazis’ and the misery of the concentrations camps. The movie‘s strengths became also its weakness. Because of Guido’s too much sense of humor, the movie became much more of a comedy type of movie instead of being a drama. The part where Guido’s intentional failure to relay important instructions to the Jews who have just arrived in the death camp. Instead he created his own speech about the rules of the “game” that he says is being played, for the sole benefit of his son. Also, some of the parts of the movie is predictable.
