LSCO Scholarship Application 2018 Personally, I believe that knowledge is power due to the fact that it is one thing that no one other than yourself can take away from you. Growing up, I saw my parents struggle to make ends meet, simply because when I was born they were young and essentially children themselves. My father is a police officer, and my mother is an LVN. However, my mother has always strived for a better education for herself, and by having me so young, she may never reach that goal.
