Within this two wonderful pieces of literary works we can find several similarity and differences of emotional appeals through the story lines. As we juxtapose in The Lord of the Flies we see that Jack is fearless or without guilty as he becomes bloodlust; however, Pi from Life of Pi feels guilty for killing a fish to survive. Another is when Roger just like Jack who begins to becomes like Jack who is emotionless and kills for fun. The longer the group of boys are in the island fear continues to grow to the point that Jack is able to control them. In the adapted film Life of Pi directed by Ang Lee and written by Yann Martel, the book is clearly better than the movie. This is almost always the case with book to film adaptations. The story takes place for the most part on a life boat in the Pacific Ocean with a young boy named Piscine Molitor Patel, also known as “Pi” and a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. To the movie’s credit such a book as Life of Pi is certainly hard to modify to the big screen in 120 minutes or less considering all the colorful characters and themes that are painted in the novel.…

Jack’s rise to power draws parallels with modern day figures such as Donald Trump, who rally people by giving them the promise of security at the cost of their own personal freedom. Furthermore, Lord of The Flies illustrates the idea that when societal responsibilities are abandoned, humans naturally turn to savagery. Through the novel, savagery can be seen slowly engulfing the boys with anger and lust for blood with Jack as the example. Not only does chaos ensue, but also does the loss of identity within the boys…

¨Tough times never last but tough people do¨ (Schuller). Robert Schuller´s quote sums up the moral of the story in both Ordinary People and Lord of the Flies about how people will become stronger through the tough situation or how tough situations expose people's weaknesses. In both novels and in real life people will either crumble under the stress of the tough times or they will become bigger men and rise to the occasion. Ordinary People by Judith Guest and Lord of the Flies by William Golding both put characters in tough and unexpected situations that could happen to anyone to show how people make immoral decisions when put into tough situations.…

Mathurshan Nadarajar Oct.18/17 Lord of the Flies 1963 Film Adaptation vs 1990 Film Adaptation Lord of the Flies, with its important moral, that there is a beast inside everyone, has received two film adaptations; one in 1964 and one in 1990. Although the 1963 film adaptation does not stray away from the original plot, the 1990 film adaptation does a better job at portraying the novel’s moral. For instance, the way in which the characters are represented and develop in the 1990 film adaptation is more closely tied with the story’s main theme of savagery when compared to the 1963 film adaptation. In the 1963 film adaptation, Jack was shown to always have been narcissistic and impulsive.…
