LITERATURE ESSAY ON GRE

I think my greatest areas of strength on the practice GRE exam were the proportions and the geometry sections. I think that my recall for these sections was greater because the questions were more logic based and I have practiced similar math throughout my educational career. However, I think I performed most poorly on the written sections because I did not adequately prepare myself, and I did not really brainstorm for ideas as much as I should have. I also did not do so well in a few of the other math portions, partly because I was unfamiliar with some of the types of questions, and others I have completely forgotten how to solve because it has been a long time since I have had to take a math class. I need to focus first on my areas of weakness by practicing my writing skills. I can do so by doing more free-writing, as well as researching past GRE essay questions and taking the time to answer them to the best of my ability. Additionally, I need to work on expanding my vocabulary and understanding of more sophisticated words so that I can not only use more impressive words in my essays, but to also better my chances of doing well on the entire verbal portion of the test. Also, I think it would be of great benefit for me to start reviewing the types of math questions that will be on the exam so that I will be more familiar with how to go about solving the equations and problems when the time comes to take the GRE.
