For years people have been subjected to the idea that normal lighting or an incandescent light bulb. They have used them for so long that they do not want to switch over to the light emitting diode(LED) because the LED has a bigger initial cost. LED’s in the long term, save more money than the normal light bulb. Normal incandescent light bulbs use 60 watts of energy while the LED only uses six to eight. That is over seven times more efficient than the normal light bulb. On top of LED not using as much watt 's, they 80% more efficient the standard lights. If the whole nation were to switch over to LED’s, there would be a dramatic decrease in the use of energy. If you buy a LED for around $15 a normal light bulb will only cost you around 1. For the Incandescent light bulb, you have to replace it around 4 times a year. The incandescent light takes up 75 watts costing around $40 year to run the light bulb 12 hours a day. The LED last over ten years and only using 12 watts of energy. That is relatively five dollars a year. It would take one year to break even. For any kind business, people or factory owners LED would be worth the initial cost because in the long term the LED saves way more money and use less energy. In a LED lifespan, a resident total cost is around $500 while the total cost of the LED is only $100. LED have a lifespan of 50,000 hours in contradictory to the incident light bulb that only has a lifespan of 1,250 hours. The compact fluorescent light bulb can last 10,000 hours or a little over two years and a half. The LED light can last 50,000 hours or over 11 years.
