LCDR Laberge has distinguished himself through exceptional service in the performance of his duties while serving as the Chief Staff Officer of Naval Support Activity, Bahrain, from May 2017 to May 2018. His professionalism, technical expertise, stewardship, and superlative leadership have made an extremely positive, visible impact to the command. LCDR Laberge is a stabilizing force in the wardroom, leading a team of 15 multi-service and civilian department heads. He is a trusted council and relied upon for most reports from the Installation to higher headquarters. LCDR Laberge restructured and reformatted this product to maximum efficiency. It ensures all department heads are on the same page. Additionally, he added a cartoon to this weekly product, similar to a cartoon on a typical CVN air plan. Each month he takes raw input from department heads and N-Codes and transforms the “crayon drawing” into an art masterpiece. His product sets the example for all other Installations in the Region to follow. Additionally, he constructed a user-friendly template for the department heads to follow to better align with Region guidance and instructions.

Acting XO: LCDR Laberge was called upon to act as the XO for several days while the CO, XO, and OPSO cycled through holiday leave periods. His expert knowledge, leadership and work ethic allowed the command to continue operating seamlessly throughout the transition. This simple short-term substitution validates the complete trust and confidence that NSA Bahrain leadership has in LCDR Laberge’s abilities.

Miscellaneous programs: LCDR Laberge was instrumental to the new Tenant Command meeting format. He facilitated the transition from a power-point slide based presentation to a round-table discussion format. This new format encouraged open discussion of Installation-wide issues, concerns and announcements and increased the synergy between the tenants and NSA
