L.L. Bean, born Leon Leonwood Bean was an American entrepreneur in the 20th century. He was born on October 13th, 1872 in Greenwood, Maine. Bean showed interest in business from a young age, when he was just nine years old, he assisted his father in running a small-business in which sold animal traps. Bean's parents died four days apart when Bean was twelve years old. He subsequently moved to South Paris, Maine to stay with family. When Bean was thirteen years old, he shot and killed her first deer for profit, he was always an avid outdoorsman. Furthermore, Bean proved he was an outdoor enthusiast, fisherman, and hunter by always coming back home with soaked boots, denoting that he was in the wilderness or a body of water.
