There is fifty-four seconds left in game seven of the NBA finals. The game is tied, series tied. Kyrie irving steps back and drains an unbelievably deep three over Stephen Curry! The Cavs now have a three-point lead over the Golden State Warriors and are going to win the NBA Finals (Azarly). Kyrie Irving has won his first NBA Finals after coming back from being down 3-1 in the series. Kyrie Irving is one of the most clutch players in the NBA and also one of the best point guards. He is also one of the best comeback players to come back and win after he fractured his kneecap (Cato). Kyrie Irving has a great story to how he became a basketball player. Kyrie Andrew Irving was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1992. His parents were Drederick and Elizabeth Irving. When Kyrie was four years old, his mother passed away. He was raised in West Orange, New Jersey by his father and his aunts. His father played basketball as well and pushed him to become a better person and player. Kyrie could dribble a basketball by the time he was thirteen months old. A drill that drederick showed Kyrie was to dribble a basketball with a plastic bag around it to become a better ball handler. Kyrie’s family was also big on athletics and influenced him. His father played basketball at Boston and professionally in Australia. He has a cousin named Isaiah Briscoe who plays basketball at the University of Kentucky and is highly rated. His mother Elizabeth also played volleyball at Boston University. His godfather also is a very big basketball influence, the great Rod Strickland made sure that he was signed with Nike and got him in Nike shoes (Nike News). When Kyrie was in eighth grade, his father told him that he would be the best point guard in New Jersey. When he was in high school, his father said that he would be the best player in the country, and when Kyrie was in college, Drederick told him that he would be the number one pick in the draft. In appreciation, he gave his NBA championship ring to his father Drederick (Pandlan). Without his family, Kyrie would not be the player he is today. When Kyrie was in high school, he played for Montclair Kimberley Academy as a freshman and sophomore and he led them to New Jersey state title. He then transferred to St. Patrick High School to get a bigger challenge. Their he played alongside Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. In 2009, he played in the Nike Global Challenge. He brought the USA East team to a title and won the MVP (Wikipedia). Kyrie Irving never lets anything get him down and he never gives up. According to Jackie MacMullan, Kyrie Irving wrote down on a piece of paper “GOAL: PLAY IN THE NBA” and whenever someone said that he would not amount to anything or if anyone doubted him, he would pull it out and remind himself of his life goal (MacMullan). One thing that Kyrie Irving never let bring him down was his injuries. Injuries are one of the hardest things to overcome and get back out there on the court. During his rookie year, he played in the Rising Stars Challenge and scored thirty-four points and won the MVP. During the 2013-14 season, he was selected to start for the East in the All Star game. During he scored 31 points and won another MVP award. He will most likely stay with the Cavaliers because they have a very talented team and he is one of the stars.
