Growing up as kyrie irving

Born on march 23 , 1992 in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia to american parents. His father Drederick irving moved from playing college basketball at boston university to playing professionally in Australia with the Bulleen Boomers. Irving moved from australia to the united states at the age of 2 and has citizenships in both places. His mother Elizabeth Irving died when kyrie was 4 from an illness. That left him to get raised by his father and aunts.

Irving Grew up in West Orange, New Jersey when he moved to the US while going to his father's adult league games. Wanting to play in the nba came from playing during a school's field trip. “I will be in the nba i promise” he used to say. As a Teen he play with the

On October 22, 2006 kyrie committed to Duke University in a television broadcast on ESPNU. Kyrie played for duke during the 2010-2011 basketball season. Under the guidance of head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Through the first eight he averaged 17.4 points per game with 53.2 % for shooting, 5.1 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals. He was quickly making his way for NCAA freshman of the year. A turndown came for that though when kyrie suffered a severe ligament injury on his right big toe. On May 17 the day before Duke played Hampton in the first round of the NCAA tournament , it was revealed that kyrie was returning for his first game since december 4.

Coming into the NBA

Kyrie announced that he would forgo his final three seasons and enter the 2011 NBA draft. He got selected with the number 1 pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kyrie signed a contract with rookie teammate Tristan Thompson on December 10, 2011. Kyrie and Tristan both got named to the 2012 Rising Stars Challenge. With Kyrie playing for team chuck and Tristan playing for team shaq. Kyrie scored 34 points in that game plus 8-8 with 3’s and earning MVP
