Kyle Kuzma's Freak The Mighty

The incident I’m about to tell you is when I judged someone’s level of play because he wasn't well know. There is one NBA rookie that had gotten drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017, His name is Kyle Kuzma. Kyle was picked 27th out of 30. No one knew who Kyle was , nor did they think he would be successful in the NBA. But, when the summer league came around Kyle Kuzma shocked the whole world by averaging 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Kyle won MVP, and brought home a national championship. Now, in the regular season he is doing the same, and is in the races for rookie of the year. I didn't think Kyle Kuzma would be very good because he wasn't a lottery pick, eventually I got to see him play, and come to notice that he is better than most rookies out the 2018 class. In the book “Freak The Mighty” the world has judged two boys named Kevin, and Max wrong. …show more content…
If we were to judge him solely on his appearance, because he was so big for his age we might assume that he is mean, and a bully. In fact, when we first see him, people called him “The Kicker”(pg.1) because when other kids tried to touch him he would punch and kick. This shows that he is rough, and fierce. Max had a thing for booting anyone who dared to touch him(pg.1). This shows Max associated with people in a wrong, and mean way. However, later we see him as a caring person when he sees Kevin choking and he screams for help (pg.86). This refutes our initial judgment by showing that Max is a really nice person, and is very protective over his family, and

At first, when Max meets Kevin, Kevin doesn’t display a want to set a good first impression, but when Max helps him get an ornithopter from a tree, they become close friends, despite them being near polar opposites in many ways (personality, capacity for learning, and physical ability). Throughout their friendship, Maxwell learns many new, useful, and trivial things about the world around him (such as how to write) from Kevin, whose only practical method of transportation outside of his home (other than a car or other large vehicle) is riding on Maxwell’s shoulders (much like a piggyback ride). Max and Kevin also go through…

A 14 time All Star, 6 time NBA Champion, a Hall of Famer, and much more, all of these successes from one amazing basketball player, one as good may never appear in the NBA again. Many immediately think of Michael Jordan, and have asked how Jordan was so good. In the chapter “The Matthew Effect”, Malcolm Gladwell argues how it is not only skill that results in being successful, but that it is the time when you were born, saying that being born in the first six months of the year gives more time to mature as well as learn alongside those who are older, creating a greater chance of success. Throughout “The Matthew Effect”, Malcolm Gladwell effectively uses, and relies on, experimental evidence and inductive reasoning to support his claim that…

Throughout today’s modern culture or even societies from the past, numerous groups or communities have played an immense role in creating a world that is more intelligible, responsive, and aware of differing people’s beliefs and values through the categorization of cultural identities. Furthermore, Nealon and Searls Giroux in “The Theory Toolbox” assert the importance of cultural subjects providing a more interconnected and communicative society, but also stressed the false notions of generalizations on an individual basis, whether through identity categories or preconceived judgments. In fact, as a biracial American, this narrative of battling common myths or ideologies dealing with subject positions derived from culture has applied to my…

Max tripped his sister after she destroyed his drawing and knocked over the pencil crayons, which is something that Ally wouldn’t do if she wasn’t vaccinated. We can draw the conclusion that Max is an extremely passive-aggressive person because he doesn’t confront her directly. Instead, he opts to show hostility towards Ally indirectly by tripping her and blaming it on her clumsiness. He also gave her the finger while her back is turned, and he received satisfaction from seeing her suffer. This is a drastic contrast from Max’s attitude towards Ally in the previous chapters, especially when he lied about Peanut to make her feel better.…
